Basic Info
Name:Deborah Avery
Location:New York, United States
Website:New York Executive Coaching, LLC
Bio
Deborah began her education in behavioral dynamics and problem-solving as the only daughter of immigrant parents in a family of seven brothers. Her diverse employment history paved the way to a comprehensive understanding of the workplace with all of its varying scenarios, as well as human nature.

Deborah has worked in law enforcement with one of the largest municipal police departments in the world for over twenty-five years. In that time she has developed an ability to assess situations and create workable solutions, often under high-pressure conditions. Her career has included a wide range of functions, including officer on patrol, academy instructor, sergeant, and, for the past thirteen years, human resources, where she mentors and helps develop leaders.

Deborah enjoys working one-on-one, helping people who are motivated to reach a “miniphany” (a term created by her husband, Kevin Avery, for a small but life-changing epiphany): that moment when clarity and understanding replace doubt and uncertainty. Her knowledge of goal-setting, time-management, and establishing action plans that hold people accountable inspires clients to do their best. Her intuitive style and ability to strategically think more than a few moves ahead enable her to effectively accelerate the growth and development of clients who desire focus and clarity in achieving goals and becoming successful.

Deborah helps each client transform into his or her “best self” by crystallizing their vision into reality. Her coaching helps strip away those behaviors that are in direct opposition to achieving each client’s own version of the life of their dreams.

Deborah Avery is the Founder and President of New York Executive Coaching, LLC. She is an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation and a Certified Empowerment Coach with iPEC, the Institute for Professional Empowerment Coaching.

Deborah's clients are ready to examine how the choices they make contribute to the overall status of their lives. They are willing to divest themselves of habits, behaviors, and limiting beliefs that no longer serve their needs and to embrace new ways of thinking, behaving, and living that will ensure the achievement of the lives they desire for themselves. When a client partners with Deborah on an individual coaching journey with honesty and the desire to live fearlessly, new possibilities emerge and the world responds.

Deborah's years of experience in law enforcement afford a sense of realism and possibility based on her understanding of the human condition. "I’ve had an opportunity to see the worst in people and also the very best," Deborah says. "I’m always looking for that new perspective that can turn a negative situation into a powerfully positive opportunity for growth and improvement."

Deborah's Life Tips

1. Your own attitude is one of your most important treasures. Don’t give anyone else the power to influence your attitude in a negative manner.

2. Strive to be fearless in your actions when it comes to achieving
the life of your dreams. If you can’t be fearless, don’t allow
the feeling of fear to deter you from doing the work required to
get what you desire.

3. You are so much more than the sum total of everyone else’s
opinion of you. Often we are conditioned by others at an early
age as to who we are and how we should act that we fail to fully
realize our own unique talents and abilities. Give yourself the
gift of determining your own special identity.
